About APSSDC ( AndhraPradesh State Skills Development Corporation )

APSSDC is a unique organization formed as a public private partnership(PPP) corporation to promote skill-development & entrepreneurship in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The corporation is incorporated as a Section-8 company (not-for-profit) with a private equity component of 51% and 49% by Govt of AP. The Corporation now serves as the Executive Agency for the newly formed Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. APSSDC will also serve the important task of providing high quality skilled manpower as part of the acknowledge and Skills Mission of GoAP, which is one of the cross-cutting missions among the seven missions formed by the govt to facilitate double digit growth of the state.

Context :

Andhra Pradesh will face an incremental Human resources requirement of approximately 10 million Skilled workers between 2012 till 2022, across the high-priority and emerging sectors.

Vision :

To be the best state in India and to be competing with the best in the world by 2022, when India celebrates its 75th year of independence and to achieve the status of a fully developed state by 2029.

Mission :

To skill 20 million people in 15 years by meeting skilled human power demands of all missions and shape AP as the skilled-workforce and Knowledge hub for the world.

 APSSDC Nirmaan VidyaHelpLine Project (A brief note ) ::
APSSDC in association with Nirmaan Organization’s Vidya HelpLine project (www.vidyahelpline.org) has started a unique initiative of providing Career Information and Counselling to the Youth (students and dropouts) of AP through a toll free tele counseling helpline with number 1800-425-2422.
  • The partnerships started in Oct 2015 and have addressed 94,370 (calls) queries till 30th September 2018.
  • The helpline operates from 10 AM to 6 PM on all the working days.
  • The project has received a wonderful response from the youth as more than 63% of calls received are through word of mouth publicity.

 

Calls Status from Oct 2015 to September 2018 is:

  • Total Answered Calls:- 94,370
  • Abandon Calls :- 31,696
  • Female Calls % :- 17%
  • APSSDC Job Melas and Training related calls:- 16,310
  • Majority calls received from Anantapuram-18% (15,184 calls)
  • Majority calls received from completed Graduation (40%) Students: 36,298 calls
